Life in Christ Programs
Bible Studies
Dive into new translations of Scripture in ICSM's bi-weekly, virtual Bible studies. The format is simple: we review close translations of each chapter from the Greek or Hebrew prepared every other week by ICSM's staff, then explore in open discussion fresh insights arising from the text. As always, we trust the Holy Spirit to guide all our conversations.
Learn More
There is no cost to participate in ICSM's Bible studies and no expectation to attend every meeting.
Registered participants receive an email every other week with the fresh Scripture translation and virtual links for both the Tuesday evening session from 7:00-8:15 pm and the Wednesday morning session from 8:30-9:45 am (Eastern time zone). Participants can join either session based on what works for their schedule that week.
ICSM Bible studies run during the school year from September to early May (with breaks for Christmas and Easter).
Over the past several years, we have explored the books of Romans, Colossians, 1 and 2 Corinthians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philemon, Philippians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, 2 Peter, Habakkuk, and Micah. In the fall of 2026 and the spring of 2027, we will be studying the books of 1 John, James, and 2 Peter.
We hope you can join us!
Foundations in Christ Series
Explore core foundational issues of daily life with God in this series of innovative workshops. ICSM's Foundations Series is designed for Christians seeking spiritual grounding in Christ, discernment, and deeper knowledge of God and themselves.
Foundations in Christ Workshop
Next Summer Workshop: July 24-26 and August 7-9, 2026
Next Winter Workshop: February 19-21 and March 5-7, 2027
The Foundations in Christ Workshop is a two-weekend experience in which we take a close look at our awareness of God, ourselves, and reality. In this workshop, we combine insights from Scripture, the early Church, and the Reformation with interactive discussions, participant questions, and practical exercises to explore core issues of faith and daily life with God. The workshop focuses on the presence and activity of God and the freedom God gives us for new life in Christ.
Learn More
Expecting the Holy Spirit to work among us, the Foundations in Christ Workshop offers time and space to learn about God and ourselves in fresh ways. The workshop is for adults of all ages seeking to explore questions that cut to the heart of faith, questions like:
- "How does God interact with us on a daily basis?"
- "What if my spiritual life sometimes feels stagnant, like I'm not close to God?"
- "Where is God in the midst of suffering?"
- "Is the work of discipleship supposed to feel like such a burden?"
- "Can I really rely on God's grace?"
Through a variety of approaches, we examine practical cornerstones of our faith and explore how Christ sets us free in extraordinary ways. What each person discovers in the workshop is, by God's grace, specific and unique to them.
The workshop takes place over two weekends: Friday 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Sunday 9:00 am to 3:30 pm both weekends, with a weekend off in between.
ICSM offers the Foundations in Christ Workshop twice a year at its office in south Charlotte (7615 Colony Road, Suite 210). The Summer 2026 Workshop will be held the weekends of July 24-26 and August 7-9, 2026. We are also accepting registrations for our Winter 2027 Workshop the weekends of February 19-21 and March 5-7, 2027
Fees help defray expenses and make future workshops possible. ICSM realizes that each participant has a different ability to pay. Thus, fees for the workshop are broken down into three optional tiers which allow participants to select the amount that is right for them in the registration process ($150, $300, and $450). In addition, because of generous donations from prior Foundations Workshop alumni, ICSM is able to offer full and partial scholarships without a formal application process.
Foundations in Christ Level II Workshops
Foundations Level II workshops are single weekend events open to alumni of the two-weekend Foundations in Christ Workshop. Level II workshops build on the work of the initial workshop by diving deeply into specific subjects related to faith and daily life with God, such as prayer and discipleship.

Level II Foundations Workshop on Prayer
Building on core concepts from the Foundations in Christ Workshop, the Prayer Workshop explores God's extraordinary gift of prayer in the midst of our daily life in Christ. With the help of Scripture, interactive presentations, and exercises, we wrestle with significant, practical questions about prayer. We also examine and try out different kinds of prayer. Relying as always on the work of the Holy Spirit, in this workshop we seek the grace of "prayer without ceasing" in Jesus Christ.
Level II Foundations Workshop on Discernment and Discipleship
Developing insights from the Foundations in Christ Workshop, this workshop dives into Christian discernment and discipleship in fresh ways. Modern Christians have many default lenses around faith and often find themselves on a discipleship treadmill. Relying on the Holy Spirit to shift our lenses, we explore the space of daily life with God where we get to discern and participate in what Christ is doing at the moment.

Reformed Theology - It's All About Grace
This two-day workshop seeks to recapture insights
into daily living with God from a perspective centered in Christ and rooted in grace. The workshop is for pastors, church leaders, and congregation members interested in a deeper engagement with Reformed theology and how God's grace frees us to participate with Christ in his work of ministry.
Learn More

What We’ll Explore:
- Modern Christianity: Reflect on how the current era of Christianity mirrors the late Middle Ages when the message was dominated by various forms of works righteousness that nullify the striking gift character of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- The Grace of the Gospel: Examine the sources—the Bible, the Protestant Reformation (1520+), and others both ancient and modern—which talk about God's grace, the gift of participating in that grace, and the freedom of not having to trade on grace.
- Looking Forward: Rediscover grace as the energy-filled space God creates for sinners to abide in the love of Jesus Christ and walk with God on a daily basis.
This workshop is held at ICSM's office, 7615 Colony Road, Suite 210, in Charlotte. The cost of this workshop is $250 per person, with lunch provided both days.
